In case there are any denizens of the TiddlyWiki world here in London,
I'm planning to attend two rather geeky events this weekend:

http://www.geekdinner.co.uk/2005/07/18/geeking-out-with-jeremy-zawodny
http://www.ukuug.org/events/opentech2005/

At the latter, I'm due to be a contestant in James Larsson's
'Motherboard Kerplunk':

> Inspired by the famous scene from 2001 where HAL is decommissioned
> and in homage to the classic children's game "Kerplunk", contestants
> with soldering irons try to remove low-criticality components (e.g. decoupling
> capacitors) from a working motherboard without getting the Windows blue
> screen of death.

If you see me before I manage to electrocute myself or anyone else, do
say hello!

Cheers

Jeremy.

sounds like a lot of fun. Do you think that the susceptibility to the
soldering iron depends on the operating system? Is Linux more stable to
effects in the physical world? Would you do it with a Mac - once they
run on Intel Hardware?
