Hi all, especially Thomas,

I was digging through the detail widget js tiddler and the css tiddler and did not see where to change the arrows in the detail summary to bullet points. Is there a way to do this?

Hi Dave

No, I am afraid it is not possible to change that.

The reason is: it is the browser

… well, that was just a half answer – sorry!

What I wanted to say: I leave the styling of the symbol up to the browser (I did NOT choose the arrow, but the standard is good enough for me). So If there is a way, it is via CSS you could and should style the look of the HTML details tag.

A quick search led me to this not very new article: http://blog.teamtreehouse.com/use-details-summary-elements

Hope, that helps, let us know if you find a way!

Cheers,
Thomas

oh, okay, I will look into it, thanks.

Follow up question: do you know if there is a way to add a class to text within the summary text?

Never mind, I will just use the regular details html, which is more flexible than your widget,

As a parameter to my widget you can specify a class that will be added to the details tag (see https://tid.li/tw5/plugins.html#DetailsWidget) as in my documentation widget:

<$details summary="Browser Support: Not Implemented in Edge yet" class="warning">

So you can target the summary using CSS like this

details.warning summary {
    background
-color: #ffe4df;
}

I hope you use the latest version of my plugin, it comes with a readme that links to the documentation.
