Hi there

I would like to use Tiddlywiki as a music notebook, does anyone have any ideas for the best/fastest way to include snippets of music notation within a tiddler?

Nothing complicated, just something that looks like this:

Here is some text in my tiddler. Look at this melody:

The ideal solution for me would be to be able to typeset the music within the tiddler in a similar way to how you can typeset mathematical notation with latex/katex. There is a latex package (abc) that supports music notation but as far as I know there is no way to use this within tiddlywiki.

Is the only option to create the notation as an image in some external software and then just insert in? I can imagine this being tedious if I am doing this a lot. If this is the only way can anyone suggest a good site / software to do this?

Thanks for your help

It never ceases to amaze me what you are able to do with your codes.

I want to express my appreciation and admiration for all you.

Thank you very much for being so creative and brilliant.

You too!

The kudos goes to: BurningTreeC which created the TW edition, and the abcjs creators, who made the library.

Is it possible for me to get this working without any experience with JavaScript?

I can't figure out from these links how to do it...

- open this link: A demo is: http://musicsheets.tiddlyspot.com/
- click the "save" button (circle with the "check" icon)
- rename the downloaded file (optional)
- Start editing.

That should be all you need.

Yes. The one thing you will need is understanding of abcjs music notation: https://abcjs.net/

NOTE that the demo (BTC made) lacks some icons, because it was an experiment, but the un-iconed items work.

To understand more read this thread: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/tiddlywiki/zLOyf1yov5o/RmN3MGXcCQAJ

Best wishes
