TW5: Lists not working

Long time user of Classic TW. Just downloaded the TW5 version last night. Working in it tonight, I noticed I can't get either ordered or unordered lists to work using the typical markdown (* or #). What am I doing wrong?

I went to tiddlywiki.com, made a new tiddler and entered this

See if putting an empty row above the bullet list helps.
