From the what's new:

Theme overhaul plus theme and palette switcher

Click options and try "select theme" and "select palette". Also there is no longer the empty_nolayout. You can just download the empty.html and change theme to MptwStandard. If you like to customise your templates see Note about customising templates.

Slice based tagging list modes

You can now show tagging lists with all slices or description slices. See systemConfig for an example of the description slice. To use these click the excerpts button to cycle through the modes.

New plugins

I've included InstantTimestampPlugin and PrettyDatesPlugin as part of the standard MPTW distribution.

Let me know if you find any bugs.

Hi guys,

Excellent news, and welcome add-ons (palette, themes, prettydatesplugin, etc etc...), this is great.
Just one question for MPTWs hosted on Tiddlyspot : is it a good idea to update ?
I cannot figure out if newly created MPTWs (today in version 2.2) are created in this version because of platforms constraints (=Tiddlyspot not compatible with the last version) or only because of time constraints for you guys to bring the complete Tiddlyspot to next version.

In short : if I update a MPTW locally to the latest version and upload, will it break something ? Or is it just that it is not updated yet for new MPTWs, but I can safely update mine locally then push it back to Tiddlyspot and it will work ?

Nicolas.

Do it :)

tiddlyspot sites are just regular TiddlyWikis with the UploadPlugin
installed -- so as long as the UploadPlugin works, you can use
whatever version of TW you like.

And local backups are so easy to restore (you just open up the backup,
and click the upload button) that you can always try something, and
back out if it doesn't work.

Probably you'll want to download your current TW, and a fresh MPTW,
and do all your importing etc locally.

Let us know how it goes..

Cheers

Hi again guys,

On the process of updating, I began and downloaded a fresh copy of the new MPTW with a right click > save as on this link : http://mptw.tiddlyspot.com/empty.html

When opening this fresh copy, I get a strange style behavior in the "timeline" tab : all items appear "far" from one another, like if they had a microsoft-word-like 1.5 spacing (I can provide screenshots if it helps). The same goes for the "select palette" and "select theme" buttons in "options".

What is causing this ? In addition, if I switch to another tab, and back to the timeline tab, items go back to normal spacing !

Any hints ? This reminds me of a similar bug I had raised in this post :
http://groups.google.com/group/TiddlyWiki/browse_frm/thread/6f1bdc9b166019d7/7be5513fe0dc04bd?lnk=gst&q=syssoieff#7be5513fe0dc04bd
(The plugin in question in this old post is no longer in place, but the issue is similar, this is strange...)

I get this same behaviour. In firefox I can actually right click on a tiddlyLink in the sidebar tabs and just that link will instantly shrink it's padding down but about 8 pixels. In firebug I can't detect and dom or css change. My only hunch is that maybe a:active styles are causing weirdness but I can't see why or how. Whenever the tabs are refreshed the problem goes away. The same behaviour is exhibited by the top of the sidebar, ie the save search etc links. Anyone have an idea?
Simon.

This happens in an empty TW too, and seemed to happen with the update to Firefox 2.0.0.11

Hi again,

Do you guys mean there's nothing to be done, or is there anything that can be done to correct it (even with a "dirty" hack) ?

I found a bug in IE. Pesky extra trailing comma. It's fixed now.

If you have the new version of MPTW (the one released last week) then you can upgrade to get this bug fix by importing everything from http://mptw.tiddlyspot.com/upgrade.html using Import from the backstage area.

Hi Simon,
Thanks for the swift upgrades !

I can also report on the tiddlyspot-hosted MPTW 2.2 to 2.3 upgrade : it worked perfectly !

Just one question : I personnally upgraded to UploadPlugin version 4.x.x some time ago, mainly for the backstage add-ons, etc, which are a good improvement for non-tech public. And I realised today that even a fresh MPTW  2.3 from Tiddlyspot comes with UploadPlugin 1.0.2. Is there a technical reason (like UploadPlugin 1.0.2 "more" compatible with TiddlySpot ?)

Cheers,
Nicolas.

Damn...

Forget the dumb question above : just realised that in fact it is PasswordOptionPlugin (packaged within UploadPlugin) which is in 1.0.2 version; UploadPlugin below is indeed in 4.x.x version.

My bad, sorry.
Nicolas.

Slices got wrong on systemConfig on http://mptw.tiddlyspot.com/
Everything was going good until it got to SelectThemePlugin, then it
got weird starting with |selectPalette|systemPalette'|
The next line ( "apply this theme or palette" i'm lazy|) is over one
cell, and keeps doing stuff like that all the way down so that by the
time you get to UploadPlugin the first 3 cells are empty.

Guess I should add that is happening in FF2 and IE6.

I fixed this by putting <nowiki></nowiki> around the the slice content. The downside to that is you don't get tiddlyLinks in the slice content but I can live with that.

Import TagglyTaggingPlugin from http://mptw.tiddlyspot.com/upgrade.html to get the fix. Or if you like you can hand fix, look for this line:

            for (var s in slices)
                result += "|%0|<nowiki>%1</nowiki>|\n".format([s,slices[s]]);
            return result ? "\n{{excerpt excerptIndent{\n" + result  + "}}}" : "";

Add the nowiki bits.

But I think this is actually a symptom of the slice regexp being a little too relaxed. Those aren't really slices they are just lines of code with a colon in them that are matching the slice regexp.

I will write a post on this issue over at TiddlyWikiDev.

Thanks very much for reporting this.

Simon.
