Apologies if this is already explained but I couldn't find it. I'd like to be able to create links to a specific Tiddler from outside the Tiddlywiki. For example, here in the group, for reference to parts I have questions about, or in blog posts, etc.. How is that done? If the Tiddler is not open by default, will the link be able to open that Tiddler and show it? I tried appending #TiddlerName to the end of the URL, but it didn't seem to work.

As far as I know it's supposed to work, but does not yet.

a workaround:
The easiest way to link to a tiddler from five.tiddlywiki.com is to use the static tiddler version. It is updated if a new version is uploaded.

eg: http://five.tiddlywiki.com/static/HelloThere.html

 - open a tiddler
 - click the (i)nfo button
 - open the "static link" tab
 - copy paste the URL from there

have fun!

I have a TW5 on tiddlyspot and I would also like to be able specify links to specific tiddlers accessible "externally". A user example; sending an email to a colleague "Please check the information entered here ( http://foo.tiddlyspot.com/#foo ) is correct.". Any advice on how to implement this or should it be filed as an issue on https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyWiki5/issues

Don't worry, permalinks are on the roadmap on tiddlywiki.com, and are not going to be forgotten!

Best wishes

While on the subject, What about something like giewiki's "permaview" where the permalink to your tiddler or current open tiddlers is always in the browser?

"Permaview" is actually a feature of TiddlyWiki Classic, and not something added by giewiki. Anyhow, yes, the permalinks in TW5 will also function as permaview links.

Best wishes
