I've finally come to the newbie point, where
I'll be needing to 'recycle' a tiddler(s); so I need
to add that to my basic skillset.

I couldn't find anything at tiddlywiki.com.

This Group could probably benefit from a
Knowledge Base Twiki. (I know, I know:
there's so many other's. But it'd be good to
have one with this group.)

You can use either of the following plugins to "export" selected
tiddlers to a separate, stand-alone TiddlyWiki document or reduced-
size "PureStore" export file (omits the TW core code):

http://www.TiddlyTools.com/#ExportTiddlersPlugin
- interactive control panel, multi-select list, filtering, etc.

http://www.TiddlyTools.com/#NewDocumentPlugin
- one-click command, select by tag value

Hi RC,

Have a look at http://tiddlywiki.org/wiki/Main_Page
That's a/the knowledge base.

Exporting tiddlers? Exporting to what?
Other programs, fileformats other TW's?

If it is the last case, then it is not so much a matter of
exporting, but of importing in the TW of choice
via backstage & Import.
Of course copying/pasting the content of a single tiddler
is also possible, but a bit tedious when you have
more then one tiddler.
But I am afraid that this is not what you are asking for?

Cheers, HansNL

well, there are still many thousands of volunteering hours needed to
turn tiddlywiki.org into an answering knowledge base.

Nevertheless, one can always use this group as a knowledgebase, for
example by entering 'export' into the search field here. ;-) Contrary
to tiddlywiki.org, which has no entries on export at all - Here one
would find countless suggestions on how to export in whichever way.

That's pretty cool. Eric, almost what I'm looking for in my book-writing app.
The one I paid for and was using ... the author went bankrupt and the site that handles the licence is gone and so is all my work!  So I'm not going to be dependent on a single author & closed source any more :-(

I'm having fun doing this, assembling the components and playing around to find the limits of the design.
Tobias's "PagrPlugin" is very suited to this kind of thing and your 'TaggedTemplateTweak' means that I can simply tag every tiddler referenced in the ToC tiddler with 'Storyline' and the 'StoreylineViewtemplate' gets applied when viewing them!

Magic!   Surely the kind of magic you intended, no?

The 'ExportTiddlersPlugin' seems just what is needed to print out the storyline ... or maybe not, maybe I need something that walks though the ToC first?  But with this I can at least put the chapters in one of my blogs.. step by step ..

Thanks again, Eric.

Well, what you do is, you create something like this...

and perhaps add it to the FAQ where appropriate...

;-)

@Eric,

What and where is that?!? Did you perhaps mean...

?

Tobias.

NewDocumentPlugin was replaced LONG ago with SaveAsPlugin and SnapshotPlugin.

The message in which NewDocumentPlugin is mentioned was dated:

Note: if you DO try the above link, it displays a title-specific fallback "MissingTiddler" message that points to the new plugins. See http://www.tiddlytools.com/#MissingTiddlersPluginInfo for details.

Didn't notice at all ;-)

Not for me. Perhaps MissingTiddlersPlugin was also created later?

Tobias.
