I'm wondering is anyone knows how to, when in the Editor, via a button, go Fullscreen so there is nothing but the editor area and edit bar showing?

At the moment I use the CodeMirror plugin plus its "Full Screen" add-on (actually its "Full Viewport", not Full Screen).

I ask for three reasons ...

1 - When you working on longer tiddlers or tiddlers with wider code its helpful.

2 - On Smart Phones it would make decent editing much more viable.

3 - It seems like overkill to need to install CodeMirror just to be able to do that.

Maybe someone has done it already???

Best wishes
Josiah

Hi Josiah,

I've been wanting something like this for a while, and so I went ahead and did it, you can try it here:

Although, that is not the end for me, as I wish to have this fullscreen edit template centered and padded in desktop mode. But because you mentioned CodeMirror's fullscreen view as reference, that is what I'm making default for now hehe.

Hope this helps :)

Wonderful!
A minor comment:
I expect to push the edit button to go to edit mode!
May be in edit mode, I should see that button (fullscreen)

Thanks Mohammad!

In that case, it would then be a simple matter of toggling a "fullscreen stylesheet" that will style the EditFrame of the tiddler currently being edited.

I'd like to explore that simpler-seeming path, thanks for the idea. I'll look into it, if there's nothing like this out there yet!

Seriously good. Thank you! Details can come later. But it works. That is very useful already. Especially on mobile.

This is a nice feature JD. could also be nice if the button was a part of the eidt toolbar too.

alas additions like this get lost in my wiki if it is not on the plugin page, so I packaged it as a plugin using the tinka plugin creator.

J.D.,

Lovely tool I been using. I was amazed how fast you made it.

Its great on desktop & mobile.

Longer term I have one request, illustrated in the screen shot. For a reveal at the foot that will let you do ContentType, Tags and Fields ...

JD,

I just started using this, It is great for distraction free editing or comparing in preview. On my key wiki I use code mirror as a rule, and full screen is great, but codemittor stops the in browser spell checker working.

As discussed elsewhere it is possible to have a custom preview that uses the standard editor, this preview allows the spell check to operate and we can edit the Tiddler there, however in the full screen view the toodbar only relates to the top/edit window (as we would expect)

If we are using the visual editor, something similar would be possible, however in both cases in the full screen editor the Tool bar only applies to the code-mirror editor.

I was wondering if you could make it so that we can select the editor in use on the full screen view? It could appear only with the full screen open and provide an optional drop down. Ideally we could also toggle the preview above, left, right and Bottom in this view. This is because unlike standard view the fullscreen edit view gives us the screen real-estate to do this all effectively.

Thanks for this useful tool, No pressure.

Regards
Tony

Hi JD.

It's a good start !

I whish tc-editor-toolbar would be fixed :) It's just tc-tiddler-title tc-tiddler-edit-title now.

And maybe have a look at CSS (don't work with your theme Material) and with own palette I don't see bar icons.

Cheers,
Sylvain

Another request.

That it can open in a second window.
