Greetings -

For a while now, in current Mac OS, current Firefox with the current
TW version, I've been getting "allow deny" like bloody M$ app and
check remember this decision, of course, just like internet exploder,
is just a decoration. As soon as that window is closed, and the TW
opened again, it's the same thing all over again.

I don't think I've overlooked anything in FF settings - but this is
driving me nuts - I feel like I'm in a PC/Mac commercial Allow /
deny - allow deny fooey -

Any hints appreciated -

Thanks very much in advance.

You can try this. In Firefox address bar type:
about:config
and locate this line:
security.fileuri.strict_origin_policy
and set value to false.
If this line doesn't exist create it: remember to specify boolean
type.

I have a sneaking suspicion -- or perhaps a hope -- that this may
solve a problem I've had with FF and TW under OS X. I'm wondering,
though, if I do this, will I be putting myself at risk, security-wise?

Eric - Good question - maybe someone with more knowledge than I will
reply authoritatively. I'm also curious about why this is new/changed.
I suspect that your previous prefs for java will protect you as before
and this was an "undocumented feature" on top of that.

Well, you do enable enhanced privileges for all local HTML files. It's a
bit like executing binaries (e.g. EXE files on Windows) - it comes down
to knowing and trusting the source of stuff you put on your HDD...

You might wanna read this:

FWIW, this whole thing is a known Firefox issue:

Thanks. I gave it a try, but it didn't solve my problem with "saveAs"
on OS X as I hoped it would, so I returned it to the default
value.
