I revisit this about ever 6 months hoping that it has been addressed.
Is there now, or will there ever be a function like TWC reminders - http://remindermacros.tiddlyspot.com/ - ?
Thanks!

Hi J Bell,

http://remindermacros.tiddlyspot.com

Most of the functionality this provides is already possible,
it's just not been put together into a congruent whole.

Here is how I would do:
  1. devise a button to create and associate reminder tiddlers (possibly under a system namespace)
    • assign a unique id to the tiddler given the reminder, unless that tiddler already has one
      • that would be something not in the core yet, but I would not fiddle it any other way
        • in fact, I think I am just going to create an <<id>> macro right away
    • store this unique id at the reminder tiddler in a field, e.g. for or tiddler or lookup-id
    • store the target date at the date field of the reminder tiddler
      • and perhaps use a summary or description field to store a reminder title
        • alternatively use the tiddler title, if you don't want to stuff reminders under a system namespace
          • but then you may have the issue of wanting to use the same title twice, so... back to the system namespace
      • use the body of the reminder tiddler as a more complex reminder note
  2. use a conditional view template that lists all reminders for a tiddler (or filter)
    • allow to set a reminder date using a date picker plugin
    • with a button to create a new reminder
  3. provide a macro / template to easily list all reminders (for a given scope / context)
    • could, in fact, be the same as 2. only working on a filter other than [all[current]]
So, what's missing today is:
  • for the date to be displayed as a delta
    • this can be achieved through new relative date format that can literally be called DELTA
  • the id mechanism
    • which can be circumvented by other, less efficient means
    • but is actually simple to implement, so I think I'm going to jump on it right away
All in all, if you wanted to, you could do some pioneering
and work the basic functionality out already.

Best wishes,

— tb

I've also interest in a reminder macro in TW5 like known from TWC. Anyone out there to start the work? I'm a new user and not a programmer to do the job. I can only support with testing.

Hi,
gsd5 has a reminder / tickler function.

Forgive me for resurrecting an old thread and for possibly misdirecting this query, but I must be missing something fundamental (I'm new to TiddlyWiki;  there's a lot to learn).  Reminder/tickler functionality sounds ideal.  However, I see absolutely no documentation for how to use it... When I install either the gsd5/core or the gsd5/ticklers into a tw via TiddlyDesktop, the "readme" tabs are empty.  There's no obvious "how to use this..." documentation at http://gsd5.tiddlyspot.com/  and not even any obvious channel through which to *ask* the author where the documentation is.  Am I being very, very stupid somehow?

from the website it looks like you have to create an action, then goto the action and select the tickler

all the best
