Greetings TiddlyFriends!

After a two month hiatus, I'm very pleased to announce the return of regular TiddlyWiki Classic Clinic sessions on Google Hangout.  Ask questions and get solutions to all aspects of TiddlyWiki Classic ...

* online video chat discussions and screensharing
* walk-throughs and demonstrations
* real-time help with your TiddlyWiki documents
* beginner and advanced use of core features
* content formatting
* custom layout, styles and themes
* macros, scripts, plugins
... and more!

To kick off this return, I will be hosting a "mini-marathon" of CLASSIC CLINIC SESSIONS EVERY DAY THIS WEEK.  I will be available for LIVE HELP for two hours each day, , starting TOMORROW, Monday February 17 through Friday, February 21, from approximately 1pm-3pm Pacific Standard Time (9pm UDT), followed by a SATURDAY session starting at noon (8pm UDT), and going for as long as there is interest and I have the energy.

I will post a link to the live Google Hangout *HERE* each day, shortly before the start of each session.

In addition to rebooting the Clinic sessions themselves, this is also a FUNDRAISING PLEDGE DRIVE: your ongoing financial support is *vital* to the continued success of TiddlyWiki... so, visit the live Clinic sessions this week... ask questions, get solutions, and make a donation.  Whether you donate every now and then, or make a recurring monthly pledge, the amount of your donation should reflect your own sense of the real-world value of the benefits that you've actually received and expect to receive in the future.

enjoy,

I'm in. I'm unemployed and running out of funds quickly myself, but I've got a job lined up so I should be able to donate soon. I am aware of the value offered here.

So expect me there Monday.

What it's the relationship between you and TW5? I usually donate to projects that are useful for me. I only use TW5.I understand you have helped the whole TW picture a lot. In fact TW5 is possible because TWC but I would prefer to support a project which I will use in my future.

Eric is moving his attention to TW5, but an important part of his role in the project will continue to be to provide support for TWC, and to help users make the migration. Over the last two years it is Eric's continuing work on TWC that has enabled me to free up the time to work on TW5.

Best wishes

Jeremy.

Although TiddlyWiki5 has many significant differences and improvements over TiddlyWiki Classic, they are NOT separate "projects".  TiddlyWiki5 is a "evolutionary reboot" of TiddlyWiki Classic, and builds on many of the lessons that have been learned from years of real-world use of TiddlyWiki Classic.

Since 2005, I have been providing ongoing community support to the worldwide TiddlyWiki user base as well as working with Jeremy on all aspects of TiddlyWiki development.  With the arrival of TiddlyWiki5, my role remains the same: work with Jeremy on TiddlyWiki core code development, and provide instruction and assistance to the community.

My current focus is on continued support for BOTH TiddlyWiki Classic *and* TiddlyWiki5, as well as develoment of conversion tools/wizards for migrating content from TWC to TW5.

I also have written a very large number of TWC plugins and addons (www.TiddlyTools.com).  While some of these plugins are rendered obsolete by new TW5 core capabilities, there are still many TiddlyTools plugins that provide additional functions and features that will need to be re-implemented for TiddlyWiki5.

Similarly, an entirely new set of TiddlyTools QuickStart documents (see http:www.TiddlyTools.com/quickstart) will be need to be created for TW5.

During this period of time, as TiddlyWiki5 development moves through the beta process and eventually emerges into mainstream use, support for TWC will continue to be important for the vitality and health of the TiddlyWiki community.  Of course, once TiddlyWiki5 use becomes dominant, my focus will shift further towards support of TW5.

So, as you can see, while your donations will help me to maintain TWC, it is NOT support for ONLY TiddlyWiki Classic. Your contributions benefit the TiddlyWiki Community as a whole.: both now, and for the future.

Hello Eric

I already Know about TiddlyTools and you. It was not clear for me how both projects are connected, that's all.
I revised (again) http://www.tiddlytools.com/quickstart/ and there are some awesome features that I would love to have at TW5 so I made a donation.  I don't have much money so I have to focus my donations to that projects that I really appreciate.
Sorry If it has sounded like I don't appreciated your work.

Regards.

I'm probably doing something wrong, but there doesn't seem to be anybody in that group? I do see Erics avatar (or whatever it's called in google chat) but it does not seem active..
