I've seen this in the group, but the links I found are 7 years old (wow respect... this group has been in existent for quite some time!) and the links from it are broken.

My preferred date format is yyyymmdd.hhmm like so: 20160116.1331 . For the journal, the hhmm is not as important (I guess I can just call them .1, .2 and so on)... but  for now it writes something like 2016Jan16 and I need to manually delete the "Jan" part. Is there a way to tell it to just write a number? Anyone?

Thanks!

Try replacing default with: YYYYMMDD.hhmm (in Control Panel > Info > Title of new journal tiddlers). Also useful reference: https://www.w3.org/TR/NOTE-datetime

TiddlyWiki's official datetime syntax can  also be found here:

You can find the setting in the shadow tiddler $:/config/NewJournal/Title, and you should also be able to find it in the ControlPanel tiddler.
