I would like to announce the release of "d3" ("d-cubed"), a GTD system
using TiddlyWiki that is shamelessly modeled after The Kinkless GTD
system. This system was formerly known as "the alternative kinkless GTD
TiddlyWiki" to distinguish itself from other "kinkless" or "unkinked"
GTD TiddlyWikis, and is actually version 1.0.7 of same. (see the thread
http://groups.google.com/group/GTD-TiddlyWiki/browse_frm/thread/8da514cdf660df69/#)
But this is the "official" release because (a) it is feature complete
for the moment, (b) does not seem to have any egregious bugs, and (c) it
coincides with the formal release of version 2.0.7 of TiddlyWiki core.
(The x.0.7 overlap in versions is, however, purely an accident.)
For those that have been following the development of the SFKATAKGTDTW
and grabbing versions as they came out, this version has the following
fixes over 1.0.6:
* officially converted to TW 2.0.7
* added support for project/action archiving
* Someday-Maybe was not correctly identified in GTDMenu
* project review now only displays open projects (with incomplete
actions) by default
* import/export interface moved to UpdateApplication
* deleted action no longer reappears if it is the last action in
project and there is no linefeed after it
* revert to stock ImportTiddlersPlugin as necessary changes
single-click updates have been put into release
For those that are newcomers to the system, its main features are:
* clean, intuitive, and "kinkless" interface to GTD action list
management
* a richly adapted TiddlyWiki application that runs in any modern
browser
* only a user-level familiarity of TiddlyWiki is required
As always, there are a number of options for downloading this system:
http://ca.geocities.com/tom....@rogers.com/gtd/gtd-sample.html
http://ca.geocities.com/tom....@rogers.com/gtd/gtd-empty.html
http://ca.geocities.com/tom....@rogers.com/gtd/gtd-update.html
http://ca.geocities.com/tom....@rogers.com/gtd/gtd-d3.zip
The "-sample" version is the full system, with some sample data and
documentation. The "-empty" version is the full system, ready for use,
but without any extra data. And the "-update" is for upgrading your
existing system. For versions 1.0.5 and earlier, you will have to import
the contents of the "-update" file explicitly, but if you are using
version 1.0.6, then you can simply "Check for Updates" and load the
update with a single click. Don't forget to save and reload after an
update! I have also posted a zip of the three files so that you can grab
them without any of the Geocities kife that seems to be injected by
their servers.
An important note for UPGRADERS: if you are running a version this
system already, you will have to manually update the TW core to 2.0.7
yourself using the instructions at
http://www.tiddlywiki.com/#HowToUpgrade. While the "-sample" and
"-empty" versions are already at 2.0.7, the "-update" will only update
the GTD components of your system. Alternatively, you could grab the
"-empty" version and import your projects and actions manually from your
working copy.
As always, comments, questions, and complaints are very welcome. Just
post them to the GTD-TiddlyWiki group and I will try to respond as
promptly as possible.
Enjoy!

"Don't think you are. Know you are." - Morpheus
In my announcement message, I left out a significant detail that is
tripping up some people. Google Groups is mangling the URL I posted
simply because it contains my email address in it (grrrr, Geocities!).
So, to see the full URL, you need to click on the "..." in the middle of
the URL, and GG will reveal it to you. Alternatively, you can type the
URL in yourself. If you choose to do this, then know that in the middle
of the URL, it should read "tom DOT otvos AT rogers.com".
While many hundreds of you have already clicked through (thank you!), I
shudder to think how many others have simply given up in frustration.
Sorry about that.

As of right now, the version at dcubed.ca is the same as what is on
Geocities (with some minor mods to point updates at the new host). But
there will be a new version with a few fixes and feature request in the
next few days, so stay tuned.
Thanks for your support and patience.

I stumbled onto your system and just wanted to commend you for creating
and sharing such a comprehensive and great system. Your documentation
is very detailed and the workflow is very efficient and
straightforward. Highlighting the next action is also unique and well
thought out. I also liked your archive system of tagging actions and
projects so they don't clutter reviews. I've only played with it for a
few hours but I tried it on FF1.07 and 1.501 on Win2000 and XP. Great
fun!
I tagged it to my del.icio.us
I may have missed it, but why is it called d3?
Best,
tony
Thanks for the kind words, and I hope you continue to use the system. I
cannot take credit for highlighting next actions...while it is unique
among the TW-based GTD solutions, it is shamelessly modeled after the
original kinkless GTD system.
As to the name, it was never formally described, but d3 (or d-cubed, to
be precise) stands for the "do it, delegate it, defer it" mantra from
GTD.
I also considered "two minute rule", or "2:00", but my review
board/wife wrinkled her nose at that.
