How to make links to files in tiddlywiki

I'm trying to make a link to a file.

I did search and came up with the syntax [[link_name|c:\blah\myfile.ext]]

But, the link tiddlywiki makes is file:///C:/temp/wiki/mytiddles.html#myfile.exe where mytiddles.html is my tiddlywiki file. Clicking on it simply suggests there's a missing tiddler.

If you are talking of TW5, then the syntax for external links is:

[ext[link-title|the/path]]
