I'm using a combination of Noteself and tiddlyblink.

Thought I'd done enough by having it save in Google Drive and in an external drive. I cleared Chrome's history and now all I get is a getting started page.

How can I prevent this from happening in the future?

Alejandro,

How did you save it?

NoteSelf makes use of a database in the browser CouchDB or a hosted pouchDB. As a result it has different operating behaviours to a standard wiki so you should review the documentation on NodeSelf to see what you may have done wrong.

If I recall, Noteself has a designated github repository where you can ask questions and where @Danielo (the creator of Noteself) will see it.

Just guessing but I would assume that if you just try it out, ie that the saving actually does save to your Google Drive, then shouldn't that do it? If it did work, then clearing your browser should have no effect on what you've saved in your Drive...

The noteself forum is here: https://forum.noteself.org

I am not a developer for noteself, so you should confirm all this on the forum.

If I remember correctly, if you don't set noteself use a remote database, it uses the in-browser indexDB to store wikis. This lives in the persistent browser cache, the wikis are not saved elsewhere unless you download a copy. So clearing all the data in the browser cache will remove any wikis saved.

There should be options to not delete persistent data when clearing the browser cache, but the process is almost certainly going to be different for each browser.
