How to do this the TW way? (macros?)

Sorry for any vagueness, I know what i want to do, but am having a hard time finding any topics addressing it specifically in Google searches.

I want some text fields in a table to switch from plain text to a text input field when a button or link is clicked.

My instant go-to thought was jQuery, and i found a jsFiddle that does exactly what i want to accomplish... except its in jQuery.

So my question is.. is there equivalent macros that allow me to 'change' the html onClick?

I think there may be, as that seems kind of what happens when someone clicks on the Edit button in a tiddler, but my TW-fu is weak at this point and i found the answer not.

Any tips or pointers would be very much appreciated.

If you didn't see it already, I believe it was fellow Stephen Kimmel who just recently published a beautiful editable table setup (plugin?)

But assuming that solution is not what not what you want, it should be good to first know if you want the special button to edit the table or a column or row or individual field. And do you create the whole table manually or do you generate it via a listwidget?

IMO this page should be listed in the "Community" tab at tiddlywiki.com. You should create a PR for it.

Do you mean via Erwan's Community Search? If so, I agree.

That needs explaining & promoting because right now virtually no one knows what it is or how to use it.

This was just the clue i needed!
turns out the Reveal macro has the functionality i need, i just didn't know about it.

Ste might want to suggest better text than I provided. I wanted to avoid word 'Excel' in case that caused Trademark concerns.
