How to schedule regular backups to github instead of automatic backups when tiddler edits are saved?

Newbie here. Hello all!

I discovered TiddlyWiki today (I am psyched!) and just created my first local wiki that I am backing up to a github repo.

It appears that a new commit is made each time I edit and save a tiddler. While this is a good strategy to avoid losing work, it also generates a lot of commits.

So, how could I schedule remote backups only every so often, say every 15 minutes or 1 hour?

Hi,
Welcome to the club!
goto

There you can switch auto-saving off.  BUT be aware: The only info, that you haven't saved will be the RED "save" indicator.

There will be a warning, that there are unsaved changes, if you close the tab, But if your browser crashes, you may loose stuff.

Thanks for the prompt response, mario!

However, your answer raises another question for me.

Your suggestion does prevent automatic saving. But can I schedule automatic
saving at regular time intervals? Or would I have to reactivate automatic saving
manually each time I want to save, which would be impractical.
