There are a couple of entries here about this question. It seems like hosting TW on a website is not really a problem because people cannot overwrite the html file on the server, but I just want to make sure.

This seems to be the case for the official TW website as well.

So, if I host my TW or parts of it on a website, people will be able to change it to whatever they want on the fly and even download and save it (by clicking the save wiki button) but, this will have no affect on the TW on the website, correct?

Hello,
Yes, correct :)

Remember, when you open a TiddlyWki online file, your wiki is offline on your computer.
And to complete, if you don't configure a online config to save modification (like the php script), there is no option to write over your server (because there is no authentification).

You can hide edit button if you want (there different method, like CSS, just with toolbar, or whith a sort of readonly plugin).

Cheers,
Sylvain

My last site on tw5  https://design4shop.ru/
TW5 can generate sitemap.xml automatic https://design4shop.ru/heeg.html#%24%3A%2F_sitemap
we can use different themes and Tobias macros :) for example "read more"  we put ~~~~ symbol to our tiddler and macros cut text after this ~~~~ https://design4shop.ru/heeg.html#faq

So I can say, that Tiddlywiki is a good CMS for making static sites.

Ciao Sini-Kit

Great point about CMS. Its true TiddlyWiki, once you grasp its basics, provides an exceptionally good route to creating small-scale websites. And that is all that most people ever need.

Best wishes
Josiah
