[TW5] ToC not showing slider arrows

I recall a previous suggestion to put the Controlpanel in a ToC tiddler display (ie. the "menu" on the left in a tiddler). I can't find the proposal right now, but a major objection against it was that the ToC in a tiddler is not suitable for smaller screens such as mobile. It's a fair objection, at the moment, but I hope separate themes for different size screens will allow flexibility in this because the current Controlpanel would be much nicer with a ToC.

...however, I just got an idea to put the Controlpanel as a ToC in the sidebar. The sidebar has a kind of mixed role both for actual use operations and for system admin, so why not? And we actually already have the tab Tools that is in common with the Controlpanel.
For testing, I put up http://twctrlb.tiddlyspot.com/ and created tab "Settings"

But as you can see, I don't get the ToC slider-arrows to show. Might it have something to do with that the titles are prefixed "$:/"?

Any ideas how to solve this?

Hi Mat

Using a tabbed table of contents in the control panel is a common pattern in desktop software, and an interesting idea to explore.

You're not seeing any child tiddlers because they are not defined as the toc macro requires. For example, the entry "Appearance" is stored in the tiddler "$:/core/ui/ControlPanel/Appearance", but of course there are no tiddlers that are tagged "$:/core/ui/ControlPanel/Appearance".

Hi Mat,

Why don't you use transclusions in your tiddlers.

IMO use: {{$:/core/ui/ControlPanel/Basics}}

instead of

[[Basics]] real: $:/core/ui/ControlPanel/Basics <<tag "$:/tags/ControlPanel/Basics">>

I'll definitely do as you suggest for the further work I intend to do. This step was just about setting up the structure and I figure someone might find it useful if they too want to do Ctrlpanel experiments (It will hopefully save the embarrassing ~2 hours(!) it took me due to my constant confusion between the tiddlers and their tags and actually finding the relevant tiddlers).
