Group Errors

I frequently get errors while reading and attempting to post to this group. It's almost enough to deter participation. I have also attempted to search for previous posts on the topic but no matter what I enter I always seem to get the same results.  Is there any solution?

I think we experienced pages not able to load, errors and other things. Generally thought to be caused by the work towards the new groups. I do not know. I experience very few errors for the time being.

Are you thinking of errors of that kind?

Please do not give up.

Yes. Have to refresh the page frequently. Sometimes have to refresh after starting to write a reply. I guess we get what we pay for ;-)

I get frequent errors as well. The thing that makes me hesitate to ask questions on here is the fact that, as you say, the same few threads seem to come back for almost any search (and then the string I wanted exists only in the "Recent searches" list in the sidebar. Ha!). It's very difficult to find where things may have been discussed before.

As a lifelong lurker, I find it difficult to ask when I expect the answers are already here...somewhere...

Sorry I don't have a solution though. Just so you know you're not alone.

Searching here often brings a list of results, only I am often not able to open the results, especially if it is an older one.

It is well-known difficulties and no one should avoid putting a question. Remember your question might benefit other readers too. A lot of new users have arrived lately, that is very good news, questions are to be expected.

Remember things have changed over time too, very old answers may be good answers but not always the best answer now. Lots of changes have taken place and new things created. Some of the older members may have forgotten or never known of some good stuff.

I agree, I was just admitting that old habits die hard. Even recent solutions are often obscured here and it's frustrating to feel I may be asking for people's time to reiterate something they were just talking about.

I'll go ask a question now.
