Right now NoteSelf seems to have all the features I want, but I don't see any activity in the github repository in the last six months.  I'm a little hesitant to start using something that isn't actively maintained.

I'm looking for a way to share a wiki with someone, so we can both edit it online or offline and have our personal copies synchronize with a copy hosted somewhere, with each tiddler having a revision history (as in NoteSelf, MediaWiki, Google Docs, or a version control system).

Anyone know what the status of NoteSelf is, or know of a better alternative?

Thanks!

I've used NoteSelf a bit and haven't had any significant problems with it as a single user experiance. The most complicated part is setting up your couchdb.

The multi user side seems to need some work.

Danielo Rodríguez the man behind NoteSelf doesn't seem to have been around recently but maybe he will return :).

That is weird.
I made a release very recently,  I answer all the issues that got open on the github repository and  I've been fixing bugs recently. How can you see no activity ?

In the other hand, not making a commit on six months does not mean a project is abandoned or not maintained. It means that the HUMANS that are behind it does not have time to work on that.

And even if it is not maintained, it is an open source project, so potentially anyone can take the challenge of maintaining it or even forking it. But people prefer to open issues instead of pull requests.

Another thing to think about is that people have been using TW for more than ten years without problem, and most of them are using a very old unmaintained version.

The summary is: NoteSelf is being maintained, and with the current functionality, based on open standards it should work for many years.

Danielo,

I think I posted this shortly before the new release - which resolved one of the issues I opened, too!  I'm interested in working to resolve the "delete local database"/authentication enhancement but have little free time and lots to learn, so it might be a while.

Thanks again for the recent release!

Hello Darin,

I didn't noticed the date of your post.
Glad to hear that you are working on a possible PR. Finding free time is hard, I know, I wish you the best luck.
