An extension of the basic tag macro

Greetings.

I've been working on a <first><previous><next><last> implementation of the basic tag macro so that it provides a link to specific tiddlers in a list. I'd like to replace the default tag macro with my new tagg macro in tiddlers matching a filter, using a template. 

I've started some of this work in http://tagg.tiddlyspot.com, but thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has implemented something like this, or has suggestions for doing so. And, as you can see, my code is kind of simplistic.
