Hi everyone,

was playing with MediaWiki unplugged and I'm amazed with the ease it
imports Wikipedia pages with the ease of clicking a link.

Are there also plugins for importing html sites as easy as that?

Sorry to revive a very old thread.

Does anyone know what happen to http://www.mediawikiunplugged.com/ or where can I get the latest version. I understand this is a TW classic based product that works offline. Does anyone still use this?

I think I would need a wikipedia pages substracter for working offline. Am afraid the the Wikipedia has changed so that this mediaunlugged is not working anymore to adopt the current changes.

Thanks.

It got taken offline. I can't find any downloads available for the .zip file, but if you go way, way back to the original archived version of it on archive.org, saving the page as an .html file seems to give you a working copy: https://web.archive.org/web/20090517031257/http://mediawikiunplugged.com/ -- The newer versions won't give you a working copy. It seems like the newer copies of the page are simply .html place-holders (~10KB in size), while the older version seems to consist of the wiki software itself (~600KB+).

I'm not sure that you'd want to use this, because it's not very functional. I tried using the <<version>> macro to check what the version was, and it didn't even work. There's also an obviously broken image on the top right-hand corner of the wiki after downloading it to my computer. I mean, that could conceivably be fixed, but you get what I'm saying, here. It's not really workable.

Here's another link: http://aid1.tiddlyspot.com/

Maybe this is better: https://github.com/FND/tiddlywiki-svn-mirror/tree/master/verticals/mediawikiunplugged -- Honestly I don't know because I don't know much of anything about MediaWiki Unplugged or github. It's just another link I found when searching.

I hope this helps -- if not in giving you a workable version, at least in establishing the state of things a bit.

Regards,
Hiru

thanks Hiru for pointing it out.

the internet archive doesn't seem to work.

There is no download on the github link either.

I think the working copy is at tiddlyspot. I am still working to
retrieve a copy.
