Hej!
I am still working on my screen-editor http://storywriting.tiddlyspot.com/
I am building a sort of modal-window in which I would like to edit longer texts (dialogues) and therefor would like to use Alain Dutech's comptext editor http://snowgoon88.github.io/TW5-extendedit which automatically fills in the rolenames.
<$edit-text tiddler="$:/state/sortboard/edit" field="text" type="comptext"/> is not working....

Ciao Jan

I'm just hopping in here as I seen you sent this message twice. I can't answer the question since I don't know that plugin or how it works. But I was interested by how your screenwriter is shaping-up. Its looking good.

Am I right in thinking that from within the script you want links to each character? Meaning: every dialogue "CHARACTER" is linked to a Tiddler for that character?

In my own playing I'm looking at automating links to tiddlers for all characters and main scene headings (INT / EXT etc.) using regular expressions without having to manually do anything. I'm slow, but hope to get something workable fairly soon that may be relevant?

Best wishes
Josiah

Hi, Jan.

I know the link is to an old thread and that the plugin was opdated later on to work with the editor toolbar. You cannot use Edit-text widget. Tobias Beer adviced using Edit widget.

Yes, that is the way you do it...The rolenames are inserte by
transcluding them from a tiddler with this name. This makes it possible
to change the rolename or to lin a role to an actor.
The Tiddler is tagged role and just contains the <<role>> macro as
text. You can use the sidebar menu to create it.

Hi Birthe!
Strike, it seems to work!
I will try to finish it with this trick.

Thanks a lot.

Hej Birthe.
A small Update: It shows the Popup with possible completitions if I type the pattern in the editfield created...but then it does not insert/change the text as it should if I type return.
So the Problem is only half solved.

Update update update
Sorry for bothering the rest of you. Sometimes insert works... but not as stable as normally.
Sometimes it works...sometimes it throws the embarrassing red screen.
I will keep working  and testing this.

Cheers
Jan
