New Tiddler here. Read the starting guides but didn't see anything about my question.

It's getting tedious having to manually code my hyperlinks in my Tiddlers. Is there a way to add a hyperlink button so I can highlight the text I want to link and just click that button to add a hyperlink to it? I see the "wikitext link" button but that is not what I need. I need to link to external sources. Do I need to change to a different "Type"?
 I'm using TW5.

Thank you!

Jeremy

When you're in tiddler view mode, then this is currently not possible (that'd be very convenient!)
In tiddler edit mode, you can highlight some text and click the button with this image: [[*]]

There is also the comptext editor (name?) which, when you type in edit mode, can sense that you're typing the name of a tiddler and suggest the complete name including link brackets, for you to select to set.

Thanks Mat. I’ll have a look when I’m back in my office. By the way, is there an app that would work with TiddlyWiki for better mobile “wikiing”?

All this did was put double square brackets around the text with no other fields to fill in with a link. Am I missing something? lol.

After reading more, this looks like it's used to link to another wiki page when I need a hyperlink solution for external linking.

After even more reading I figured it out. For those searching here is the linking docs https://tiddlywiki.com/static/Linking%2520in%2520WikiText.html

LOL! - Yes, that is the standard way to create a link, so I assumed this is what you were complaining about...

FYI, there is also the CamelCase way to automatically create a link and there was recent talk from [the other] Jeremy about looking into "freelinking", i.e to have the system automatically turn any mention of another tiddler into a link.

Just for the record, lets place the answer to you Query here.

So I presume you started to use the simple form [[TW5|https://tiddlywiki.com/]]
or even
