Hi!

I just updated http://tiddlystuff.tiddlyspot.com/ to 5.0.8 and added some new stuff.

Additionally I started to add stuff in plugin packages. So now you can go to the Settings tab -> Plugins and drag te plugins you're interested in.

At the moment these are just the three mentioned in the subject ine, but more will come.

listselect: This will give you a dropdown selection of filtered tiddlers.
newtiddler: Updates now the create an modify fields
helpenvironment: A first attempt to introduce a generalized help environment. See the "AvancedSearch" for a new "HelpSearch" tab.

Nice!
Thank you Stephan!
As a petition:
What about an extra parameter to the newtiddler widget to clear certain tiddler/s?

Could you explain more, please? What's the use case?

Yes,

When you use a temporal tiddler as data input for the new tiddler widget I would to clear the content of that tiddler after creating the new one. That's what I'm talking about.

At the moment I don't like the idea too much. Where should be the limit? If you have, for example, 2 temp tiddlers used for input, should I have the ability to delete 2? And what about 15?

I think we need another approach for stuff like this.

I agree with you.
It was just a workaround. I don't like to use temporary tiddlers for this kind of things, but It is what we have now.

Hi Stephen

Is your <$let> widget still working with v.5.0.8-b? - the table at the bottom of your example no longer displays correctly

It should. But I do not use it for the newtiddler widget example as I did not want to give the impression that it is required.

Hi

Very soon after updating to v5.0.8-b I attempted to use the newtiddler widget with the let widget, and failed :-(  I then noticed the problem with the table at the bottom of the let example - this may, however, be a problem with the table formatting rather than with the evaluation of the variables. Strangely, at that time, I recall the let widget appeared not to function (the variables names were not evaluated), now it looks like a formatting error only.

Sorry, I seem to not understand. Can you give my some link where I can see the problem? Or maybe screenshots?

Found it! It is the "You need 2 linebraks" format change of 5.0.8.

Hi

OK- works fine now.

Another related issue: when I drag the tiddler $:/plugins/skeeve/let.js across to my node installed TW5 I experience no problems. If, however, I drag across $:/plugins/skeeve/newtiddler, the page crashes. I first have to rename $:/plugins/skeeve/newtiddler to $:/plugins/skeeve/newtiddler.js before I can drag this tiddler across. Perhaps it would be better to name all plugins with .js extensions?

I can't reproduce with my FF16. Which browser are you using? Which OS? Can you reproduce by dragging one of the plugins from tiddlywiki.com?

Maybe it's worth an issue ticket.

Hi

Didn't notice this behaviour until this morning; I am currently using Firefox 26.0 mint-1.0 on Linux (Ubuntu.)

No problems with $:/plugins/tiddlywiki/github-fork-ribbon from tiddlywiki.com

Hi

Page also crashes if I drag and drop $:/plugins/skeeve/newtiddler back onto your own page - strange :-\

Hi

No such problems with other plugins, nor with these plugins on local TW's. The problem appears to be associated with tiddlyspot and the listselect and newtiddler plugins in particular. Adding .js to the names does not help on tiddlyspot - either of these two plugins dropped back onto its own page crashes the page (same behaviour on my tiddlyspot.)

Hi Stephan

I think the problem is that your plugins "version" field does not confirm to the Semantic Versioning standard:

Your plugin versions should be major.minor.release, and you should take care to bump the version numbers each time you release a new version. Otherwise users will not be able to upgrade plugins properly.

Best wishes

Jeremy

Okay… I hope this fixes the problem. I just udated my version numbers to 0.1.1 and 0.2.1

Cool, I'll push a fix for the actual crash.

Best wishes
