How to query for links/mentions in streams?

I'm using a version of this Roam Research style Tiddly instance to map out my dissertation. Perhaps due to all the changes that have been made to it, I find that the query functionality detailed in the creator's use guidelines no longer retrieves data (it just leaves a blank node). I'd be incredibly grateful to find a solution.
