Hi, I am really noob to tiddly wiki and I can't find find a way to do this.  I'm trying to write myself a list of the commands and characters to use in tiddly wiki, but how can I make it so that the characters are displayed and not (triggered).  Like """ or <<>>.  I want to write a definition next to them for a quick help/cheat sheet  tiddler.

If you just want to "protect" a single term, wrap it in the "tic" symbol (upper right hand on keyboard), which can be applied with the monospace AB button inside the tiddler editor.

If you have a whole block you want to "protect", you can wrap the text in triple tic quotes:

```
this is my toc macro: <<toc root>>
```
which can be done by selecting your text and clicking on the monospaced block formatting icon ()  inside the tiddler editor.

Ah thank you so much !  I see what my problem was!  '   is not is not a "tic".   I can't seem to find it on my keyboard.  I'll use the buttons until then, thanks again for the help.

Math,

In addition to Marks reply, I use them all the time.

On My Keyboard the "tic" or left quote, is the left most, the key before 1
 and unshifted ~ tilde

Also see the Codeblock widget https://tiddlywiki.com/#CodeBlockWidget and the html equivalents.

The View widget in format=text is another option

Whole tiddlers can be set in text with type = plain text

Regards
Tony
