Hello all,

I have a quick question concerning the tabs macro in TW5.

<<tabs "tab1 tab2 tab3 tab4">>

The above works fine as intended.
However I want to apply an alias just as I used to do in TWclassic like so:

<<tabs chkT
Tabone "t1" tab1
Tabtwo "t2" tab2
Tabthree "t3" tab3
Tabfour "t4" tab4
>>

Can it be done or how would I go about doing that?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Julio

Hi Julio

You can apply a caption to a tab by giving the corresponding tiddler a "caption" field. The content of that field will be used as the tab label, falling back to the title if that field is missing or empty.

Best wishes

Jeremy

Hello Jeremy and many thanks!

Oh so the fields control that. Ok I will try that then.

Jeremy, so just to see if I understood....
  • I add the field name as: "Caption"
  • I then will enter the field value as: "Tabone" (for example above)

regards,

Julio

Yes, Julio, that is correct. Just learned it myself.

The field name is "caption". It's best to use field names in lowercase in TiddlyWiki for consistency.

Jeremy, yes,

That's exactly how I did it...all lowercase...good to know.

Hi all,

At http://five.tiddlywiki.com/ is an example for Tabs: TabsExample
It contains:

Here is an example of the tabs macro:

<<tabs "Docs WikiText Features RoadMap" "WikiText" 1>>

<
<tabs "[tag[tips]]" "GoogleChromeTips" 2>>

Although I understand the syntax for the tabs and 'tab selected' (and know about 'caption'), I do not understand the number at the end (1 and 2).
As far as I can see nothing changes when left out or changed.

Cheers,

Ton

Hi all,

It looks like the number is a tabset ID in case you use more than one tabset in a tiddler.

Cheers,

Ton

Hey Ton,

Thanks for clarifying as I was thinking that same question (about numeration) myself.

Best regards,

Julio
