Check out my dGSD TW at http://thinkcreatesolve.biz/dGSD.html - at the bottom of the default Tiddlers that open, you're find one called MarkupCheatSheet

Cheers,
David.

A lot of effort seems to have gone into making TW accessible for new users, but I don't see any markup help in "empty.html".  If file size is a consideration, can't "Getting Started" include a link to an external, official TW markup guide?

I definitely second the request.  While TiddlyWiki isn't renowned for its documentation, a link to http://tiddlywiki.org/#formatting in the GettingStarted tiddler would be a welcome addition.  ;)

When I first discovered TW, I compiled my own cheat sheet, too.  You can find it here, in case you want to take a look:

Try this, with the tiddlywiki.com page and you will get a list of
info.

Just to clarify: thanks to all the people who pointed me to "cheat sheets" for TW, but I already found those.  What I'm asking is why the official "empty.html" doesn't already include a pointer to one.

The formatting references are included in the main index.html on
tiddlywiki.com:
http://tiddlywiki.com/#Reference

The "empty.html" is just that... empty. It has NO content other than
the necessary Shadow tiddlers that define the default templates,
stylesheets, etc.

I also think, the empty.html TW should be as empty as possible. But it
contains the GettingStarted shadow tiddler, that points new users to
some useful tiddlers.

As TiddlyWiki has a different syntax than many web users are used to,
I think an additional pointer like:

* Detailed markup definition can be found at: http://tiddlywiki.com/#Reference

won't hurt. And may help new users.

I would agree with Mario that - for lack of a well structured & more comprehensive documentation - a link to the basic markup guide would be the bare minimum to get started with adding content.

So, I would as well agree to adding that to GettingStarted tiddler.

In the long run I would prefer a link to a comprehensive documentation... where 'Markup Guide' or something similar would be one ofthe more prominent topics.

Tobias.

I think Eric pointed to the right one. It contains everything you
need.

on the other hand, a 1 page cheat sheet to import or to print (1 page)
would be nice too.

I would agree with Mario and others to add a link to the basic markup guide to the GettingStarted tiddler.

For lack of a well structured & more comprehensive documentation - that should cover the basics to get started with adding content.
