[TW5] Transclude into _canonical_uri field doesn't work?

Should this not work?
TiddlerA has field
`imgurl:http://tiddlywiki.com/talkytalky/images/Motovun%2520Jack.svg`
TiddlerB has field
`_canonical_uri:{{TiddlerA!!imgurl}}`
(Putting the url directly into the _canonical_uri is confirmed to work fine.)

The _canonical_uri field is interpreted as literal text, and isn't wikified before use.
