I'm very happy to announce a usable alpha release of Cardo for TW5.
Cardo is the new name for dGSD. It comes from a combination of "Card" and "Do", which aptly describes the UI metaphor of the tool, and from the name given to the main north-south roads in ancient Roman cities, used as a guide for easy navigation.
I've posted it at it's permanent home at http://cardo.wiki and will continue to update both the main TW file and the Cardo-plugin export .json file as I progress to beta and beyond.
It's in a fairly usable state right now - in fact I'm using it daily at work. Projects and Tasks, References, as well as Person dashboards are all functional, as well as one "all items" dashboard. Do make a point of using the Intake buttons in the sidebar, or the (+) buttons on the dashboards to create new Tiddlers, as they will get properly tagged that way.
I'm expecting to code up the rest of the main items (Meetings, Agenda Items, Project Progress bars, RACI charts) in the next week or so, at which time I'll move it to Beta status.
Additional features such as Books Library and Book Notes, Person contact info, and more Review dashboards will come next.
CSS fixes will be bit by bit as I tweak and progress.
Last on the list is the Mail functionality I introduced last to dGSD1.6, which heavily depends on Node.js. At the same time, I'll put the whole thing into a Node.js folder instead of a single file.
Note on Node.js and the cardo.wiki site:
I'm running the site on Bluehost VPS, with a Bidix store.php backend. I've got Node.js installed there,
but if anyone can help me get it up and stable as a way to serve the TW folders, it would be really appreciated! I would also be happy to put up your Cardo files for you although at this point you'll have to supply me with a username and password to use. If someone could help me get full Tiddlyspot functionality, I'd love to put the Add-Your-Site front-end up and make it available. Again, help requested! Please post feedback here, or email me directly, and I look forward to all of us moving together into the wonderful world of Getting Things Done with TW5!!
Best regards,
David Szego
