MGTD had a feature where we could use structured text with one task per line to enter tasks in bulk. Is this supported by Cardo? If yes, is the syntax documented? where?

Hi,

No, something like that (in my mind), is more a quick to-do list rather than a focused set of tasks with details and goals - so I've kept one task per card.

I would suggest using a plug-in like ToDoNow https://tid.li/tw5/plugins.html#ToDoNow:ToDoNow
which you can drop into your TW file alongside Cardo. This will give you a good combination of project management type detail with to-do-list type flexibility.

Cheers,
David.

Maybe you are just looking for this plugin: https://grosinger.net/tw5-checklist/

I use it with ToDoNow to create subtasks within a task. The syntax is easy:

[ ] Square brackets with a space between them: open task
[x] Square brackets with an x: done task

See usage panel and configuration options for details. (You do NOT need ToDoNow to use the checklist plugin.)

Cheers,
Thomas

Thanks David & Thomas for the Todonow & checklist recommendation, They look to be a good value add to my task management system.

My request for MGTD's quickadd feature was more from the project management side, I tend to capture meeting notes with action items in text files / tiddlers (e.g. @xyz migrate code to new platform Due:December 12) these tasks sometimes get subtasks and some eventually become independent projects.

I was looking for a way to directly extract and push the tens of tasks from my regular minutes of meeting to cardo.

I spent a few minutes today observing the communication between cardo and its nodejs storage backend. I believe I should be able to write a script to parse my text file and inject the required tiddlers directly in the backend.

Thanks
Vijay
