Hello stuff doers!

I am an old fan of the twc gsd, which I ended up having totally restyled and personalised to my needs.
So happy to find the new GSD5  somewhat simpler version -  Thank you very much for that!  I gave it  a restyle that can just as  well share, I might tweak it further.

The restyle was impossible to control without adding some classes in the shadow toddlers.
One thing led to another, and I "superficially" changed some of the functionality too.
The result is a bright and more pretty gsd5,  with an attempt at responsive columns. To like or to dislike.

I have included a few  tiddlers to help document - as references - in the project GSD5-STYLE.
The _README will tell you where the stylesheet is, and what tiddlers I have had to change.

Enjoy
kamvik

Fine work, kamvik!  It does have the classic gsd feel to it.

Some of the iconography ideas I really like.  With your permission, I would like to possible incorporate some of those ideas into GSD5 at a later time; with recognition to you of course.

In the spirit of improving my project, did you have to change much of the non-CSS stuff?  Do you have a github account where you could share the source?

Thank you very very much Roma !

It's all yours! So glad to be able to contribute back.

I left a reference listing all the changes I made in the project tiddler - but I'd like to try to do this the proper way and take github for a spin - first time, so I'll get back to you when it's up there ..

This is tested only on Webkit I'm affraid.. I'm curious: how  the columns work - Did you try collapsing the SideBar?

(the style fits well with a vanilla-like theme called Origin, included in the example file for  preview, it's not completely finished yet. It would have to be selected in Control Panel. It is minimalistic and plays with contrasts of positive/negative rounded/square - i.e. editor, info, dropdowns.. )

No I didn't change much of the other stuff, only I had to edit many shadows :)

I'll be back with a Github link -  Regards Kamilla

I have now forked your work -- and am about to overwrite the tid files with my editsI --not sure if that is the way you want me to do it.

So before I do any damage, is that what you meant?

regards kamvik

Very nice work, kamvik.

I would like to ask you and Roma to put some emphasis on "tickler" development. To me it is very important.

Also, I am creating a TiddlySpot version of my customized version of mGSD, the one I have been using for the last few years on a daily basis as my GTD application. I will post it here in a few days.

Regards,

Alfonso Arciniega

Yes Kamvik,  Though in reality you don't have to fork my entire project; you can just create a new project with the files you edited.  No worries, version control systems are definitely worth learning even though some can have a steep learning curve.  The good thing about git is you can hack away and totally trash your fork of my project but always undo all the hacks with a couple keystrokes.

Alfonso,
I am trying to recover from my programming hibernation, it has been a summer from hell for me.  There are a couple core issue I would like to work on before going back to Ticklers.  That tickler extension is going to be my next target.

 Hi Roma,

I am trying to recover from my programming hibernation, it has been a summer from hell for me.

I'll wish you a heavenly winter then.

There are a couple core issue I would like to work on before going back to Ticklers.

I feel that pain. I have a trello of all the things that I'd like to tackle more graciously and it's simply just growing... endlessly :D

That tickler extension is going to be my next target.

I have no clear picture what it takes to best model "events"... but I think the most generic approach is to have them be "events" with a specified time, i.e. a due-date ...whether or not they are subsequently associated with some calendar or any other fine-tuned specifics is step #2, #3 , #4...

What's very essential about ticklers is to bring them into this TiddlyWorld with a capacity for being of a recursive nature, i.e. to have them recur at very well known / defined moments by virtue of "ticking off" ..."done that"... so they pop-up, again, at moment Z, being a well specified time at moment Y (where I tick off the last one) ...possibly with respect to an "original moment" X rather than the one a user eventually clicks "done that now" (Y).

In other words, if a user "ticks off" the "every second Tuesday" tickler only just a Wednesday later, the next time this tickler will show up is two Wednesdays after the original Wednesday the tickler was expected to be ticked off originally.

Best wishes,

Tobias.

Thanks Alfonso, looking forward to seeing your gsd, when you get round to ir.

Roma, I'm thrilled to discover  git, https://github.com/kamvik/gsd5 , thanks for making me take the step.
The rest of the edits will be up tomorrow night, Copenhagen time. You did a brilliant and very useful project here , anyway.
 - for your recovery, may your refound work be happy and playful!

Regards Kamilla

Hello,

Below is the link to my mGSD as promised. I modified the original mGSD to my liking. Please see the menus on the side bar and explorer all the options.
