Hello all,

the open source project at http://trac.tiddlywiki.org/browser/Trunk/association/browsertools/TiddlySnip is inactive since 2008 and TiddlySnip has stopped working with FF 17.

But still it's a great extension and I haven't found anything comparable to it. So I created a new version 1.3 of TiddlySnip which works with the current Firefox 28.
If there is interest in continuing TiddlySnip, we could restart the project at Github.

BR,
Julian

Hi Julian,

That is terrific.
I am a long time user of TiddlySnip but could only use it with Firefox 16 (the latest version that worked with TiddlySnip).
And although it worked in this way, I used it less frequently since.

I think many people will be glad you made a new version.

Thanks a lot.

Cheers,

Ton

Yehey!

This is my favorite "plugin" for TiddlyWiki.

Thank you for updating it. :)

Thanks for doing this Julian - a much missed addition to the tiddlywiki ecosystem has returned!

That is great news Julian

Many thanks for your efforts. This has been a much missed extension.

Downloaded but not yet installed.

Best regards

Brett

I'm literally giddy with excitement at this development. I've never been able to use it because I came to the scene to late, but it has always sounded like something I would love to try. Now I can. eeeeep

Yes please, restart the project. Are you going to port this to TW5? It would be amazing.

Greetings All

Now installed on FF28.

At first attempt it did not seem to work until I found the "Accept Preview" dialogue window hiding behind other windows on my (dual monitor) system.

Request to the Julian - Can the Accept preview dialogue be specified so that it is always on top when it opens.

other than this I now have back the functionality that I found so useful on the previous version.

I particularly like the positive feedback pop-up and sound that tells you that the snip has been saved.

The source code of TiddlySnip is now available at https://github.com/JulianSchuette/tiddlysnip and the 1.3 release can be downloaded at https://github.com/JulianSchuette/tiddlysnip/releases/tag/1.3

I haven't tested TiddlySnip with TiddlyWiki 5 and I don't think that it will work. But any contribution is of welcome, of course. Feel free to make any modifications you need!

BR,
Julian
