I went to Great Falls last Monday with a fly rod and brought a spinning rod (just in case).
I took a hike along the rocky bank of the river, but could't find any spots to swing the rod, so I switched to the spinning rod with a crank bait on it and tried my luck at several spots and finally hooked a beast.
It was 25 inches long and was full of eggs. It was hooked fairly deep; about 13-15 feet of water.
The water level was high and swift, so I was not able to give my fly rod a try but I will give it a try when the water levels drop considerably.
I also went to Spoil in D.C. and hooked a striper on a 1/8 oz. jig (You know what this means...)
*Both fish were released*
Tight Lines,
Todd
