Today, Thursday fishing?

Hey all, 

Between health issues, a death in the family and the birth of my first kid 4 months ago I haven't been fishing but one day during the shad run. I can see that the gauges are off the charts for this time of year for the potomac.  I have a chance to get half a day fishing in today in this beautiful weather.  I wanted to go to river bend above great falls but point of rocks says almost 10,000 cfs and almost 3 feet.  everywhere else I usually hit up is choked with grass this time of year.  Any suggestions.  Maybe rent a kayak at Mason Neck or Pohick bay?

Yeah man.  You need to scratch an itch with a short window?  Go hit the C&O Canal.  It's been fishing well.  I may be 4 hours late to reply though….
