I reeled in a fully rigged fly rod this past Saturday morning fishing at Fletchers.  I have already cleaned the rod and reel  but if possible would like to return the rod to the rightful owner.  If you have a lost a fly rod (presumably this season or even last, it was in pretty good shape) shoot me an email with the rod type, length, and reel brand.  It's a fairly unique setup so it should be easy to identify.

Thanks,

Connor

So you're the one who kept casting into my boat!!

Kidding, of course! I'll be interested to hear how many people have lost rods in the last year of two.

I lost a 9 ft, 2-piece, 7-8 wt Cabelas Fish Eagle at Weverton about 3.5 years ago with a plastic Cabelas reel on it.

You find it?

Unfortunately it is not.  But that would make for one heck of a story.

Indeed it would. Maybe I'll find it when I hit Weverton this year. Hope springs eternal!

Hope springs eh?

Well, "you can wish in one hand......"   ;)

No -- it would be neat to see someone drag it up.  Stranger things have happened.

FYI – If it’s a 6wt Sage Z-Axis with the name Alan Short on it (hopefully with the Lamson Litespeed #2 reel still attached) it belongs to.. Our former employee Alan Short.  He had to pitch it awhile ago after taking a swim upriver.

I remembered something about a lost rod a year ago. Did a search in our archives and found this.   If this matches Rob will know the person.

An Orvis Recon 9' 8wt was left behind last night at Chain Bridge. Initials "JAH" on cork and tube. If anyone comes across a rod for sale like this please let me know.

I found a fly rod and reel in the Deschutes out in Oregon, the rod had broken into multiple pieces, but the flyline had held it all together.  I found the serial number (loomis) and sent a letter to the company.  They tracked down the owner (it had been a gift from his deceased father, so big sentimental value), fixed the rod, and everyone went back to fishing a little happier.  So if the rod you found has a serial number, you might at least see if it is registered.
