Virginia Cancels Spring Trophy Season

To me, this is kind of a bluff. The Virginia Trophy season is barely fished. I kind of think they did this option to avoid shutting down fishing for larger rockfish in the fall. I believe something like 3 trophy fish were registered in the spring out of 700 total last year? But any bit helps and it puts pressure on the fleet in the upper bay to do something sooner or later.
