To all TPFRers,

By now you all know that TPFR is helping facilitate the 2014 National Capital Fly Tying Marathon to benefit Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing on March 22, 2014 (see original post here for details:  https://groups.google.com/d/msg/tidal-potomac-fly-rodders/M1eVV6S0J6A/rc2DwRnExcoJ).

I'd like to let the club know that the Quantico and Ft. Belvoir programs are also holding a tying marathon this coming Saturday, Feb. 22 at the National Museum of the Marine Corps.  The flies from this marathon will be combined with the flies from ours, and ALL FLIES collected between the two marathons will be distributed throughout the country to the various PHW Programs for use in their fishing days and retreats.

These two marathons are not in conflict or competition with one and other whatsoever, rather they are both being planned and executed to the same end and for the same good purpose, to serve those who have served us all.  If you can make it to both, AWESOME!  But if you can't make it to one perhaps you can make the other.

I'll be posting more about the TPFR hosted event at Whitlow's in March in the weeks ahead and as it approaches, but in the meantime, please consider attending the Belvoir/Quantico marathon next weekend!  Attached is the flier for their event with all necessary details and contact info.  Looks like you need to pre-register for this event via email, so make sure you do that if you are planning to attend.

I'll be attending the morning fly tying session tomorrow at the National Museum of the Marine Corps.  (I'll also try to make it to the one on March 22, but that's a ways off yet.)  Let me know if anyone else is coming from DC and wants to share a ride to the tying marathon tomorrow.  I'm happy to drive.

In case anyone missed it, the Post put up a story of the marathon from last weekend here; some fine remarks from Richie and Victor in that story.
