Knowing the rain is on the way, I fished Bull Run with my trusty 6 wt before it explodes again. I think the last storm it was over 20 ft.
Walking up the trail towards Manassas, I was looking at the debris in the trees and some of it was a good 12-15 ft high.
The stream was still alittle high but very wadable and I caught a nice sunnie on the 1st cast. It turned out to be a 6 species day. Smallies, LM, white perch, sunfish, crappie and oh, did I mention a couple of 4 lb cats? Most were caught on olive wooly buggers and olive sculpins. Got a few sunfish on a black popper. Towards the end of the day, I hit a hole that always has a few crappie and I must have hauled out 20 of them. It was fun because they were sharing this hole with sunfish and white perch, a true commnity hole lol.
Hunker down y'all, alot of water coming downstream this wknd.
