Looks like an alosid. Lower jaw longer = hickory shad. Can't tell for sure. Gives you an idea of the size flies to tie for fall stripers

My first though was it was a shad. And yes, the lower jaw protruded further than the upper. The schoolers were chasing them out of the water!
