In prepping for an upcoming overnighter on the James, I've stumbled upon a great website to waste time and do some serious river recon - Terrain 360.

Imagine google street view for the James and Jackson rivers.  And not just sections, but the whole thing.

And here's an article on the two guys and their rig.  Pretty awesome stuff if I do say so myself.

This is awesome! Thanks for posting. Probably going to spend way too much time on this.

Another cool thing I have started doing is using Google Maps to favorite coordinates of boat ramps / pull offs / fishy spots. If you have service while floating, it's a nice way to track your progress on new stretches of water.

This is great! I removed the hook from a dry fly, put the Jackson River up on my big screen tv, and spent several enjoyable hours casting at it - and caught just as many fish as I do when I'm on the river!
Thanks for finding and sharing this.

What part of the James will you be fishing and where will you be camping?
