TPFR hosting Casting for Recovery at October 9 Beer Tie with Iron Vise and Raffle

Just a heads up that the next Beer Tie on October 9 will be featuring Casting for Recovery (CfR) to memorialize breast cancer awareness month. CfR is organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of women with breast cancer through fly fishing, education, and camaraderie. As usual, the Beer Tie will be held at the Sandbar in Whitlow's on Wilson, near the Clarendon metro station in Arlington.

The event will feature an Iron Vise competition, where CfR will provide random materials (in pink!) and you will drum up a fly utilizing these. The results will be judged and the winner will receive a TBD prize.


We are also planning to host a raffle with all proceeds going to CfR and collecting materials for this now. We have some pink steelhead flies in the mix and a few other items, but if you have anything, let me know.
