I was just reading the latest issue of the Drake, and there's a pretty cool scuddlebutt piece on Devils Backbone's new Striped Bass Pale Ale. I went to Devil's Backbone Brewery once and loved it, and really want to give this beer a try. Has anyone seen it available anywhere around the Alexandria area? Better yet, has anyone tried it?

The Google tells me there is a website called beermenus dot com where you can search to see if anyone near you carries a particular beer.  Two stores in DC appear to carry sixers of Devils Backbone's Striped Bass Pale Ale for about $10.99.  The brewery also has a "find our product" page.  You might call them to see who has it on tap.  That's what I found in 75 seconds.

Cheers,

I was at their brew pub at Wintergreen over the weekend and it was not available, but I have bought it in grocery stores (and even a 7-11) in Roanoke, VA - but that is only about 40min away from the actual brewery in Lexington, VA.

Sweetwater is pretty fantastic beer too. My favorite is their 420 Extra Pale Ale.

If we're going down this road again, I'm going to reiterate my support for Bell's Two Hearted Ale

Is there a Catch & Release themed brewski out there? OR is that pretty much what macro brewery beer is about? ;-)

I've had DB's Striped Bass Pale Ale. It was pretty darn good. Bought it at a the Whole Foods near the foggy bottom metro actually. Haven't seen it in a while though. Also, since we're on the topic of brews and fishing, I found this article that hits on this very topic. I'll include the link, but Dan is this violates any rules feel free to take it down.

Two thumbs up on Striped Bass Pale Ale.  Had it for the first time last year in Oxford, MD.

Pearson's in Glover Park has it. Sweetwater is my preference, but not a bad brew at all.

In Maryland I'm pretty sure it's a Catch and Return brew.

Possible fund raiser idea for TPFR? Washington Area Bicyclist Assn is launching their own microbrew jointly with Gordon Biersch, http://on.fb.me/1d0Zbdo

TPFR could launch it's own "Potomac Snakehead IPA" or some such. ;-)

I bought DB's Striped Bass Pale at Wegmans before but I think it's a seasonal (summer maybe?) beer so might have to wait some time for next batch. The label mentioned part of the proceeds going to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

Misha,

I would check out Total Wine. They normally have a huge selection (i know for sure in fairfax) and if they can get it, they would order it for you. It is worth a try and i see there is one in Alexandria. Just a thought.
