It was nice meeting you guys. Wish I had gotten there earlier. I paddled up to the bridge and drifted down, occasionally anchoring. Did manage a nice 12" SMB. fun morning.

Thanks for tolerating my inflatayak (in lieu of SUP), and for running down my paddle. ;)

Next time I'll probably remember to inflate all the bladders, which may keep me a little drier and prevent me from having to bail with my coffee cup. Yeah, I'm a pro.

I did catch this funny catfish on a clouser, tho... he must really have been hungry.

Oh, forgot to add that I saw 3 pairs of monstrous gar right before I got back to shore... I nearly jumped out of the boat.

Were the gar you saw by the launching point?  Preston said he saw some further up towards the bridge.

I have a rope fly I tied up for gar, but I need to remember to bring leather gloves, a small piece of 2x4 and an old black plastic comb.

Yeah, about 40 feet diagonally out and up from the launching point. They were headed up river. I think they were meeting the ones Preston saw for brunch.
