I’m looking for fishing info for the Poconos. My daughter, who lives in NYC, is buying a 3-bedroom home near Canadensis, PA as a weekend get away from the city and for ski trips. I know her place is near trout streams that I’ve heard of but never fished like the Lehigh, Brodhead and Bushkill. I’ve heard much of the water up there is posted so any info or insight would be appreciated.

I used to live in Easton and fish some of the area, but it's been 20 years. Hickory Run is in a state park of same name. You might want to look at Tom Gilmore's book Flyfisher's Guide to Pennsylvania and/or Keystone Fly Fishing by Ramsey, Heck, et al. Canadensis is 's not all that far from the mainstem of the Delaware, or for that matter, East and West Branches and the streams of the Catskills. PA Fish & Boat Commission has an excellent GIS mapping tool that will help you find your spots. https://www.fishandboat.com/Locate/BestFishingWaters/Pages/default.aspx

Blakeslee is home to the Dream Mile but it's a members only stretch of water.  Just up the road from there is a fly shop that should be helpful with local intel if you buy a few flies.

My in-laws have a place on Jack Frost Mountain, just outside of Blakeslee. I generally fish the Lehigh and Tobbyhanna.

I would agree with Tim, the fly shops in town are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The two I like are AA Outfitters Fly Shop https://www.aaoutfitters.com and Evening Hatch Fly Shop www.eveninghatch.com. I generally like the guys a bit better at the Evening Hatch, but both are good.

I can't help on waters to fish. But I second Evening Hatch and AA. Evening Hatch has an extensive tying selection too.
