A friend of mine is coming out from the West in two weeks and I was hoping to take him trout fishing, between 2-2.5 hours out of DC. Have to be home to put kids to bed, any suggestions for good winter trout fishing 2 hours out of DC? Thanks for any advice.

Cheers

Andrew

Jackson river tailwate has always given me a few fish when I fish it. It might be a little bit outside of 2.5 hrs but worth the drive.
Tight lines.

Beaver Creek just East of Hagerstown.  It is a spring creek and no matter what the air temp, the water will be 54 degrees.  Lots of wild browns and some rainbows as well.  I recall catching fish on a dry fly standing in the snow in January.  Contact James Harris at Beaver Creek Fly Shop to see what to use or to arrange a guide if you are so inclined.
