Should anyone figure out how to vertical jig a weighted fly on a drift in the current you will be rewarded with a 30"+ striper. They are thick. As are the Ashad on the seams.<IMG_20140414_081029.jpg><IMG_20140414_072120.jpg>

One was deep in the middle of a swing and the other hit as I was lifting my line for a cast when my fly was almost out of the water. Definitely got the adrenaline going. I think pretty much any big streamer with some white will probably do the trick. Swinging flies deep in current has been most productive for me.When I first got on the water, I saw what looked like some stripers busting herring and was wondering if anyone had ever tried some big poppers early in the morning...might be worth a try...Still hoping for one of those 30 inchers I keep hearing about...Ben

I got to watch Alex and Mike today and see a LOT of stripers landed, it was a great show!
I had to settle for some really BIG Ashad. By late morning the wind was murder with actual chop and whitecaps occurring.
I love Fletcher's.
