Has anyone been up to the Gunpowder lately? I hate fishing from the shore for Shad, and unless something changes, it doesn't look like the water levels will drop enough for boat rentals, so I'm thinking some trout fishing on Saturday. I'm between the Gunpower or maybe heading out to the Shenandoahs for some spring brookies. I'll call Backwater Angler later to see how it has been, but not sure if anyone has intel on what they've been eating. I'm not a big fan of nymphing (just have very little experience, so therefore also very little success), so if that's the ticket I might go after the dry fly loving brookies.

Jeff, the Park is in great shape.  Fished the Conway and Rose 2 weeks ago and had a productive outing.  They are coming up to dry's.

I'll report that the gunpowder still sucks.

Two weeks ago the Moormans was good. Drys in the early- to mid-afternoon. Flow was high then, too.
